Deputy Head of Refractive Surgery, Level I (Consultant) Prof. Vinciguerra pioneered refractive surgery in Italy, making this hospital the country’s leading centre for refractive surgery and performing thousands of procedures. He also pioneered the user of Excimer laser and therapeutic photoablation as an alternative to corneal transplants and in cases of refractive retreatments.
